As a child Esther Brown went to the Arts Educational School, Tring Park where she
spent much of her time singing, making music on a wide variety of instruments, dancing
and acting. She was a member of the winning Sainsbury's Choir of the Year Youth Choir,
1989 and performed in an opera with the National Youth Music Theatre at Sadlers Wells
in London. This also led to some television work. After leaving school she sang with
various choirs in Guildford where she was at university.
Fourteen years ago Esther decided to marry her husband 3 weeks after meeting him
and together they were members of the worship band at their church in Cambridge until
children began to arrive. Esther has continued to keep her passion for music alive
through piano playing and singing at home both with her husband and to her children.
She now accompanies her son on his clarinet. She loves 1940's and 50's music and
with her husband took up Swing Jive and Boogie Woogie dancing in 2007.
Esther is the Decibelles’ most recent recruit and is thoroughly enjoying the 'adult'
conversation, camaraderie, fantastic cakes and beautiful singing.
